Achievers International School

Achievers International School was established in 2013 and is a full English Medium, co – educational, and full grades from Nursery to Grade 12. At present AIS is serving more than 260 students on regular basis.
This school is situated in the area of Salakanseng, Svaydangkum, Siem Reap City, Kingdom of Cambodia.
It is staffed by a Director, Principal, head Teacher, 15 Foreign Teachers, 10 local Assistant Teachers, 2 Receptionist, Cleaners, Drivers, 2 school based Security personal and a security staff from a private agency.
Our school philosophy is to provide learning program that are challenging and appropriate to the present and future needs of our students. Our core belief is to teach our students the essence of Attainment/Accountability, Integrity and Success thus fulfilling the meaning of its name AIS. The school recognize its responsibility to meet the learning requirement of all our students despite of the differences and limitations. AIS is regarded as a school that is providing a good quality education for all its students. The students participate in a range of interesting learning activities that are frequently linked to their own lives and the local community.

1. What are the important features of this school that have an impact on student learning?

In city Siem Reap, AIS is well located, easily accessable and well-maintained.
From the beginning students learn to understand the importance of different subjects and their importance in one’s life. There is a strong focus on fostering student wellbeing and creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
School gives special attention on building a positive relationship among students, staff, management, and the parents. The management and staff provide appropriate care and support for students. Positive partnerships with families and local community are fostered.
Students are actively encouraged to accept accountability and responsibility for their own learning and behaviour, demonstrating a growing understanding of their development as independent learners.

2.How well does this school use achievement information to make positive changes on learner’s engagement, progress and achievements?

Student achievement information is used well to support individual learner’s engagement, progress and achievement.
Teachers use thorough processes for identifying, responding to and tracking the progress of students most at risk of not achieving in reading, writing and comprehension. The school makes its efforts to provide additional resources to help students become more successful with learning. Teachers and the experienced teacher aide work effectively together to support groups and individual students. Teachers plan appropriate program to meet the varying abilities and needs of all students.
Student’s progress and learning is regularly shared with parents in a number of formal and informal ways. Parents are informed with regular term record that shows how well students are progressing in their studies. Teachers keep a track of these record so that parents can be informed how they can help the student at home for more progress.

3. How effectively does this school’s curriculum promote and support student learning?

The school’s curriculum is well designed and useful in promoting and supporting student’s learning engagement.
The school’s vision, mission and core values are clearly evident in the environment. They are used to help students become independent learners and develop skills to interact successfully with others. Teachers make regular use of the school’s guidelines in their planning to reinforce students understanding.
Students are provided with a broad range of interesting and varied learning experience, within and beyond the school. They have access to a wide variety of resources, and technologies, to help them engage in learning. Teachers use the local community and environment to make learning meaningful for students.
Director, Principal, head Teacher, Teachers, and support personal work collaboratively. Individual strengths are utilized for effective and productive learning outcomes. They are highly reflective and consider different ways to improve academic performance of students.
